Scope of Project:
The project involved the renovation of the existing Husky Union Building which was constructed in 1949 in the Gothic Revival style. The south wing was added in 1952 and an auditorium in 1963. The food services area and Husky Den were expanded in 1975 and remodeled in 2001. The current renovations enhance the multi-purpose areas for programs, improved meeting rooms for student government organizations, create a better location for the Student Resource Center, provide a better visual connection to the HUB lawn, improve ballrooms and event spaces, and enhance spaces to foster community engagement and offer opportunities for students, faculty, staff, alumni, and other members of the campus community to experience, appreciate, celebrate, and revere their interactions with the University of Washington.
