Scope of Project:
Replacing the existing building, the project consisted of a new three-story (plus basement and mechanical mezzanine) classroom & office building. The heating hot water system, chilled water system and domestic hot water system that serve the new building were already existing and located in Paccar Hall, which was completed as Phase 1. New systems include two custom air handling units that serve the classrooms and offices, exhaust fans, split air conditioning units, VAV air terminal units, finned-tubed radiators, hot water units heaters, normal and emergency power electrical distribution, low voltage lighting control systems, classroom & lecture room dimmable system, and a DDC control system.
SMI Commissioning & Consulting, LLC provided Test Engineer services for this project working directly for the General Contractor, Sellen Construction. SMI performed design intent clarification meetings, commissioning meetings, installation verification inspections, witnessed equipment startup, wrote and performed functional performance testing, tracked system issues and assisted with the troubleshooting and resolution of mechanical and electrical issues.
